Our Little Elf

Today I’m sharing the first of a trio of special family Christmas cards with you.  I always seem to leave the cards for the children and my husband til last, and despite good intentions this year, here we are again in the last week before Christmas as I rush to pull it all together!

Today’s card was made for my son, Jack, who has not long turned 7 years old.  He is still very much a “believer”, so I’m squeezing as much magic as possible in this year as I’m aware it may be one of the last!  I bought both the children elf hats this week, complete with bells on – so when I saw this little elf, I knew it would be perfect for Jack’s card!

The elf image is from the Pollycraft set that I bought before the shop closed.  I have coloured him using Pro-Markers, sticking to a traditional green and red elves outfit!  The spotty background paper is from a set called “North Pole” papers by Digital Bake Shop on Etsy.  The banner started out as an Echo Park banner from the Silhouette store, but I took it apart and changed it to suit my card.  Finally. the sentiment was cut from red glittercard by the Silhouette, mounted on a lightly felt-marked white card, backed by more glittercard (I think I’ll need weaning off the glittercard once Christmas is over…!).

I have based the layout around the current sketch challenge over at Seize The Sketch – it’s been a while since I played along, but it’s been great fun as always!
