It’s been another of those weeks of awful weather again here, hope things are calmer where you are! We’ve been lucky to escape most of the high winds, but there’s been enough rain to make me look up plans for an ark… Luckily, it’s meant that I have taken advantage of some extra time indoors to create some lovely projects!
The card I have for you today is a thank you card, made for my brother, who will soon be staying with a friend’s family in South Africa and wanted a card to thank them for putting him up while he’s there. The only specifications were 1) must say thank you and 2)no coloured digis. So, I headed back to my comfort zone, and came up with this:
I based the card around the current sketch layout over at CAS Colours and Sketches.
The flower was cut on the Silhouette, using a 3D flower cut file and is held together with a simple paper fastener. Originally, there was a mint green, pearly top to the brad, but I managed to pick it off and added a dollop of Glossy Accents to the top instead. The papers are from the American Crafts Hip Hip Hooray Paper Stack – a lovely collection of bright, bold colours and patterns. The sentiment was stamped directly to the cardbase.
I hope it will meet my brother’s expectations! I always find it a little tricky making cards for family or close friends, in case they’re disappointed, but don’t know how to tell me!
I’d like to enter this card into the following challenges:
