Unstampabelles GDT

I’m very excited to share one of the cards I made for my Guest Designer Month over at Unstampabelles.  I have been asked to join them for the whole of April, so look out for a couple more posts later in the month too!  The challenge this month is to incorporate an animal or bird into your design, with pastel colours as a twist.  There’s even the chance to win a $15 voucher from Regal Press, so make sure you head over there with your projects – just remember no stamps allowed!

I have deliberately stuck with my favourite CAS style, choosing to have a bold sentiment, with smaller images.  The sentiment is from the Silhouette Online store, but rather than cut it out, I printed it directly onto the cardbase.  The letters have been filled using one of the Harper Finch Sherbet Patterns digital patterns, to ensure that it co-ordinated well with the rabbits below.

The rabbits were also part of a file from the Silhouette store (you’ll see more about the original file in the mid-way post for Unstampabelles!).  I altered the file to show just the rabbits, which I then faux paper pieced with more papers from the Harper Finch Sherbet Patterns collection.  I loved the detail in the pattern, and felt that it lifted the card from a children’s card to a card suitable for an adult or family.  I doubled the rabbits up and stuck them together to make them a bit chunkier, then popped them up on 3D pads along the bottom of the card.
