A Random Fan are the sponsors for the new challenge at Sentimental Sundays. The lucky DT were given the choice of two adorable stamps; I chose to use Monet’s Bike and put the Bank Holiday afternoon to inky good use!
To begin with, I printed Monet and cut the image out with a slight offset in the Silhouette software. I coloured the image with Pro-Markers and based the layout for the tag on the current sketch challenge over at A Random Fan.
Using a frame tag template from the Silhouette Online Store, I cut the tag from Kraft card, then embossed the front half with a daisy chain folder (magazine freebie).
For the background, I ripped some cardboard and overlapped it to make a hilly landscape, then used it as a mask when I coloured the sky with Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean Distress Inks. Next, I coloured the grass, using Mowed Lawn DIstress Ink, keeping the colour lighter on the horizon where the blue and green meet – as it looked like the sun shining down on the hillside. The white picket fencing was the final touch for the background – I drew it in freehand with a Sakura Jelly Roll. I popped the background in between the front and back layers of the tag, and positioned Monet inside the frame area on 3D pads.
Time then for the final elements to meet the sketch challenge – a couple of daisy brads in the top left corner, three plain stud brads in the bottom right; a ripped piece on washi tape, with a sentiment cut from the Papermania Happy Days paper stack; and a lovely blue bow!
Head over to Sentimental Sundays now to take a look at the adorable DT makes – you’ve got all week to enter the challenge, don’t forget to add a sentiment!
