New Challenge At Crafting From The Heart

This week’s challenge at Crafting From The Heart put me a little out of my comfort zone, if I’m honest!! I am not a big fan of Halloween and all things spooky, but I hope you like what I came up with!

We are sponsored by Delicious Doodles and Angie’s Digi Images and, as usual, our theme is Anything Goes!

So here’s my project:

Looks pretty boring, doesn’t it??!!  Have a look at a couple more photos…

I decided to make a small pyramid treat box, using a file from the Silhouette Store, then popped my image, Reptile Eye available from Delicious Doodles, on the inside to spook!  The base of the pyramid is just 6cm square, so they’re the perfect size to be handed out as little party favours at any Halloween get-together!  I’m planning on filling mine with some little chocolate eyeballs that I spotted in the supermarket last week 🙂

Don’t forget to pop over to Crafting From The Heart to see what the rest of the team have put together for you!

Jolly Snowfolk

A new challenge is starting today over at Crafting From The Heart.  As always, our theme is Anything Goes and our sponsors are Dilly Beans and Angie’s Digi Images.

As I’m sure you know, I’m a huge Dilly Beans fan, so I jumped at the chance to use one her her great stamps.  As Christmas is also rapidly approaching, I decided it was time to break out the Snowman Border!

Why is it that the simplest things sometimes end up taking much longer than they really should.  My card isn’t complicated, there aren’t many detailed layers, just some cute snowmen, who had a little Tea Green ProMarker and blender added to their edges and a paper pieced hearts and scarves.

Well, technology has failed me today!  My Silhouette firstly decided not to cut Kraft, then decided not to cut anything at all.  So I dug out a trusty craft knife and cut my frames by hand (a little wonkily, I’m afraid!).

The embossing was easy – my Cuttlebug obliged happily!  But then came the button decision….  I settled for my 5th choice – it’ lucky I had a deadline to meet or I’d still be puzzling over it now, I reckon!

So, long story short – Dilly Beans have some great, versatile images that are a pleasure to use – and I’m going to avoid technology, decisions and buttons for the rest of the day!

Make time this week to share your projects over at Crafting From The Heart!
