New Challenge At Crafting From The Heart

Time for a new challenge over at Crafting From The Heart!  We are lucky to be sponsored by The Doodle Garden and Bugaboo this week and, as always, it’s Anything Goes!  Sadly, The Doodle Garden closed last month, but you can still win the lovely images we used for our DT makes!

I used Flight Lesson for my card – it’s such a sweet little image!  I coloured it with ProMarkers with a very slight touch of Wink Of Stella on the wings and hairclip.  I made the background with some Distress Inks and a water spritzer – I was a little heavy handed with the DI, so I needed the water to lighten things up a bit!

Keep It Cute And Cuddly!

For our new challenge over at Crafting From The Heart, we’re looking for your cute and cuddly creations!  The DT were fortunate to be sponsored by Bugaboo and Patties Creations – I chose to work with this cute little Sock Monkey…

Now, it’s nearing the end of the school term for us, so there are many assemblies, Easter parties and parades, as well as all the usual weekly commitments.  With this in mind, I needed to make a quick card!  Just recently, I’ve ended up taking several days umm-ing and aah-ing over the right layouts and papers, but I really didn’t have that much time this week, so I chose to faux paper piece the card, using Harper Finch’s Sweater Weather paper stack.  I added several more layers than I usually would, as I couldn’t decide on my favourite papers for the background!  And I’m proud to say, the card was started when I came home from the school run this morning, finished by 11am and my whole post was completed before I left home to pick my youngest up from pre-school at lunchtime.  The only downside is that I haven’t got any excuses to avoid the ironing this afternoon….

First Crafty Girls Challenge of 2014!

The new challenge over at Crafty Girls starts today.  We were lucky to be sponsored by Bugaboo Stamps, and as the theme is “Anything Goes” for this challenge, I headed straight for this great Candy Jar image:

I coloured the image with Pro-Markers, sticking to bold, juicy colours for the sweets.  To emphasise the glass, I drew a little pale blue ink onto my blender pen and added little light touches around the edge of the glass.   I then added Glossy Accents to the whole of the glass jars, the sweets popping out of the top and the bubbles of colour on the paper.   The papers were part of a lovely freebie set from Cute and Useful – they were perfectly coloured to compliment the bright, bold sweets.  The sentiment was cut on the Silhouette and a piece of bubblegum pink glittercard was popped in behind it.
