Cute Purse Giftcard Holders

For this month’s Crafting At The Weekend DT post, I have some cute little giftcard holders to share with you.  I’m not a big fan of giving money or giftcards for birthdays and Christmas as I don’t feel like I’ve put enough effort into the gift, even when that’s what the recipient has especially asked for!  So I’ve decided to make the most of the wrapping instead! These giftcard holders were so quick and easy to make, thanks to a great file from Samantha Walker (available in the Silhouette store).  I just had to pick some cute paper and pop it all together once it was cut.  Best of all, they’ve been really well received by adults and children alike – and I feel like I’ve put a little more thought into the gift than just handing over the cash! Use Some Yellow At Crafting From The Heart

The theme for the new challenge over at Crafting From The Heart is “Use Yellow” and we are sponsored by Scribble and Scrap this week.  I chose to use Vintage Rose Heart for my project.

I always like to have a couple of gift card holders lying around, just in case, and seeing as I’ve just sent off my last one, I decided to build my stash up again.  A while ago, I bought a template from the Silhouette Online Store, which makes a lovely shaped card holder.  I had a little scout around online and also came across a lovely freebie vintage rose digital paper over at Free Vintage Digi Stamps, which I used to fill the template before cutting it on the Silhouette.  To colour the image, I used the Silhouette dropper tool to pick the colours out of the digi paper, so that the image and digital paper matched perfectly.  Lastly, I added a sentiment across the heart, pressed print and cut, and hey presto!

One Stitch At A Time Gift Card Holder

Here is my first DT project of 2014 for One Stitch At A Time.  Our theme for this challenge is “Use A Digi” and we are sponsored by Stitchy Bear Stamps Outlet, who are offering the lucky winner all the digis used by the DT for challenge 194.

For this challenge I was given the Musical Notes Stamp Set by Sentimental Susan – the set has two styles of musical notes, I have used the smaller of the two for my project.  I chose the smaller image as I needed an i-Tunes gift card holder for a friend’s birthday (although I haven’t bought it yet, so have just popped a Debenhams gift card in to illustrate!).  For speed, I downloaded a gift card holder cut file from the Silhouette store, added the image on to the outside of the holder and the smaller presentation card inside, then print and cut the whole thing.  I added a little Glossy Accents to the notes on the outside of the holder, but left those inside unglossed.  Finally, I looped some grosgrain ribbon through the hole I added to the cut file.
