Get Lovey Dovey over at Sentimental Sundays

My second post of the day is for Sentimental Sundays – our new challenge starts today and the theme for this week is “Lovey Dovey“!  We were very lucky to be sponsored by Sami Stamps – I love the clean style of these stamps, so I jumped at the chance to join in with the challenge this week 🙂

I chose “Umbrella Love” for my DT card – these two are definitely a little lovey dovey, wouldn’t you agree?  I had originally planned to use a lot of pink or red shades on the card, typical Valentines Day card….but somewhere along the line, the plan changed!!  Secretly, I’m quite pleased that I avoided traditional love type colours just not sure how it happened…!

Now for the details:  the image was coloured with Pro-Markers and little dots of white Sakura Jelly Roll on the umbrella.  The sentiment was just printed straight to the card, in my latest favourite script font (Dancing).  The little panels of raindrop paper were free with a magazine recently.  I popped the middle panel off the card slightly with 3D foam to add a little extra depth.

I’m sure you’ll be over tho Sentimental Sundays to join our challenge – after all, Valentines Day is just around the corner, best get organised!!  Don’t forget to pop a sentiment on….obviously!

I’d like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Sami Stamps – Anything Goes

KIS Challenges – Square

Cards Galore Encore – Anything Goes

The Stamping Boutique – Valentines

It’s New Challenge Time For Crafty Girls

Morning everyone!  It’s time for a brand new challenge over at Crafty Girls!  Our sponsors for this fortnight are Dilly Beans and Di’s Digi Downloads.

My card for this challenge features Amalia’s Heart by Dilly Beans.  I hadn’t used any Dilly Beans images until Christmas, but I am firmly hooked!  I love the simple style of the images, and I like to present them on an uncluttered card!  So, with this in mind, here’s my card for this challenge:

I coloured the image using Pro-Markers, adding the flower pattern to Amalia’s dress by adding dots in a slightly darker shade once the initial colour layer had dried.  The white centres were added using a white Sakura Jelly Roll pen.  The strip heart paper was a freebie from a magazine.  For the mat beneath the image, I coloured a scrap piece of linen marked paper with Fired Brick Distress Ink and was delighted when it turned out to be pretty much the same colour as the hearts on the patterned paper!! The little sentiment arrow is from the Silhouette Store – I got a set of three different sentiments, and love them so much that I’m almost certain you’ll be seeing the very soon….  Finally, I embossed the card base using an Embossalicious chevron folder.
