GDT With Love To Scrap

Earlier this month, I posted my first GDT post with Love To Scrap, and promised you more soon.  Well, today’s the day!  I’m back with my second Guest Designer post 🙂

It’s Anything Goes for this challenge at Love To Scrap.  The sponsors for this challenge are Lawn Fawn and Stitchy Bear’s Digi Outlet; I chose to use Cat Nip Girl by Pookie Designs.

I coloured the image with ProMarkers, and used a selection of papers from the Papermania Happy Days stack for the background papers.  I kept the layout nice and simple, and decided to play along at Digi Sketch Challenge at the same time!

Easter Celebrations With Kitty Bee

Our Easter themed challenge is beginning today over at Kitty Bee’s Aloha Friday Challenge.  We were sponsored by Stitchy Bear Stamp Outlet for this challenge; I chose Easter Bouquet by Stitchy Stamps because the daffodils and hidden eggs are exactly what I hope to see on Easter morning!

I coloured the flowers with Pro-Markers, but faux paper pieced the eggs to draw in some of the other colours from the paper stack (Harper Finch’s It’s Easter Solids) that I used for the mats and frames.

The layout is based around the current sketch over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2, and I’ll be hopping over there later today to link up to the challenge!

Anything Goes at One Stitch At A Time!

Here’s my card for the new challenge over at One Stitch At A Time:
OSAAT 2 feb 14 full

I used the Steampunk Sailship collection, which includes the image of the ship, plus three complimentary papers.  I cut the four cog shapes on the Silhouette, three from a lovely bronze cardstock, and the final one from plain white cardstock, using the print and cut option.  I coloured the image with Pro-Markers and then blended some Starlite Silver Brilliance ink over the top, to create a foggy, smoggy look to the cog as it looked far too crisp and clean for steampunk!!  The bronze cogs were also dirtied, using Black Soot distress ink.

The paper is one of the three included with the image.  I popped the card together, using 3D pads to give a bit of depth.

It’s a nice, easy theme over at One Stitch At A Time and you could win all the images used by the DT for challenge 196 as we are sponsored by the Stitchy Bear Digi Outlet!  Make sure you pop over and have a look at the other DT projects too.

Following on from an epic length challenge over the Christmas period, Challenge 195 opens today at One Stitch At A Time. As it is the first challenge of the new year, the theme is “Something New” – so that could be a chance to try out a new technique, or maybe breaking open some of the lovely new crafty bits that Santa dropped off for you! On the other hand, maybe you have a project for a new baby or a new home….the choices are endless!! The challenge is sponsored by the Stitchy Bear Digi Outlet and the lucky winner will win $9 store credit.

New Challenge at One Stitch….And All That Jazz!

Just a quick post this morning to share my DT card for this week’s challenge at One Stitch At A Time.  Things are going to be a little different this time around – we’re running a five week challenge!!  That’s right, FIVE WEEKS!!  That gives everyone plenty of time to enter, even though it’s a busy time of year.  The theme is “Anything Goes” and the top prize will be all the stamps used by the DT in Challenge 192.  Don’t forget, you need to use a Stitchy Bear stamp to be eligible for the main prize.

For my card, I have used one image from the Stitchy Stamps Jazz Band set.  This is a great set as it includes 12 separate silhouette stamps that can be used individually or combined for a bigger picture.  As soon as I saw the saxophone player, I knew that I would be making him the focus of a very simple card, which reminds me of record sleeves from my parents’ record collection when I was small!

OSAAT 194 full

I added a yellow starburst background by Megan Turnidge behind the image and then added some “music”.  The card is very simple, but I think it will be perfect for a musically-minded friend’s birthday in January.

Listing Your Wishes

Over at One Stitch At A Time this week, it was my turn to pick the image for the teamies in my  mini-team.  After a lot of umm-ing and aah-ing (as anyone that knows me, will testify that decisions are not my strong point!), I settled on Listing Your Wishes by My Heart Pieces.

osaat 192 FULL

This lovely image reminded me of Christmas cards I received as a child, so I opted to complement Santa and Rudolph with some lovely vintage style Christmas papers which I stumbled across on the Paper Inspirations website.  I welded the image to the card blank before cutting it on the Silhouette, so my Santa is using this gorgeous paper as a direct backdrop.  Originally, I had used white cardstock for the card blank, but it felt too harsh against the vintage-y creams and browns, so I popped a little slice of kraft on the front of the card.  The stripy paper on the front is from a First Edition Christmas Joy paper stack.  Finally, I created a circular stamp, which I printed and cut with my Silhouette, adding a couple of rich cream satin ribbon and a spotty epoxy button to top it off.

Make sure you pop over to One Stitch At A Time to have a peek at other DT projects…and why not enter the challenge too while you’re there!  The theme is Use A Digi, and there is another great prize for the winning entry using a Stitchy Bear Stamp, as well a runner up prize for entries that don’t have use Stitchy Bear stamp.

I’d like to enter this card into the following challenges:

The ABC Challenge – A: Almost Christmas

Natalie and Amy – Cute and Cuddly Christmas

Cupcake Inspirations – Challenge 239

A Creative Romance – Vintage Style

Sugar Creek Hollow – Vintage Christmas

Crafty Catz – Santa’s Coming To Town

Final GDT Post at C…Is For Challenge

Today I’m sharing the card I made for my final challenge as GDT for Anna at C…Is For Challenge.  The theme for this challenge is Ornaments – my thoughts are turning to decorating the Christmas tree already!

C is for hallenge GDT Stitchy Bear

I’ve loosely borrowed From The Heart Sketch’s Sketch 42, as the layout reminded me of three baubles (or ornaments…see where I’m going with this??!!).  The image is from the Stitchy Bear Stamp Outlet; I coloured it with Promarkers and added some red glitter for the baubles on the tree and a little Stickles to the ribbon on the box.  The stripy paper is from a much depleted Trimcraft Christmas set – it was my last sheet of the stripes, I’ve been hiding it in my stash for far too long!  I cut the glittercard frames using the Silhouette, and embossed some white cardstock with the Darice Snowflakes folder, using the Cuttlebug.

I’d like to thank Anna for the chance to be a GDT over at C…Is For Challenge – I’ve enjoyed being part of her team and wish her every success in the future!

I would like to enter my card in the following challenges:
